Adding & Removing KBA

Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) can be added to or removed from a document after the document has been sent, as long as it hasn’t been signed yet. Once a document has been sent, should you want to add or remove KBA, you will need to follow the steps below

Your SignatureFlow account comes with an Adobe EchoSign Pro account. Once sent, KBA can only be modified from within this account at www.echosign.com

Adding KBA to a document currently ‘Out for Signature’

  • Once logged in, click on the “Manage” tab and enter the email address of the signer whose document requires KBA be added

  • Once the document has been located in the “Out for Signature” column, click on it and then select “Protect” from the panel on the right
  • Select “Edit” listed next to “Identity Verification” and choose “KBA”

  • Click “OK”
  • A message will appear under “Identity Verification”, telling you that “This agreement uses KBA verification” and a Lock icon will appear next to the date sent for the document

Removing KBA from a document that is currently “Out for Signature”

  • Once logged in, click on the “Manage” tab and enter the email address of the signer whose document needs to have KBA removed. The document will have a Padlock icon next to the date sent, showing KBA verification is currently enabled

  • Select the “Protect” tab in from the panel on the right and then “Edit” listed next to “Identity Verification”
  • Select “Email” from the drop down
  • Click "OK"

  • Once refreshed, the Padlock icon will disappear. This document no longer requires KBA verification
